diawa slt reels

Post by fishlessman »

i bought this reel about 14 years ago with a rod attached. the rod was dated 1988 and was wondering if the reel was from the same year. also, did diawa make these or was someone else makeing them for diawa. all the older info on slt30's ive found was for graphite reels and the new ones that look like this are 2 speed

fishlessman: that reel is listed as "NEW" in the 1985 Daiwa catalog, and it is shown for several more years. It looks the same as your reel, and is not a graphite reel. I would assume that they made it, since they were manufacturing reels in a big way at that time.

Yup, that's right. I have the patent doc for that reel here someplace. Let me know if you need the number for some reason.
