Langley Streamlite - 310 KB reel

Post by Paul Wiig »

I have a Langley Streamlite - 310 KB reel with some kind of dampening/anti backlash system on the center of the reel handle. On the outside of the reel. Very unique and clever. Does anybody have any info on this? I can send a pic on request.

:) 8) :!: :?:  cool-thumb jump yay-banana jump usa there were 2 types that were very popular at the time, one was the pfluger that used 6 set screws and operated as a drag-brake, the other was the ( The NEW LANT lash adapter , it has two sliding metal items with a circular wire that is used to stop the metal pices from being thrown off of the platform it rides on, the platform is placed onto the handle cross waysand the govoners or pices with the wire look isslid into the long part of the metal housing overlapping each other, the the assembly and handle are replaced on to the reel! when its set up corectly and the metal pices are moved towards the center of the handle, then the cast is made, the pices extend outwards and act as weight breaks to slow the handle from over running or the BACKLASH! trust that helps!
