Post by Stu Lawson »

Can anyone give me a ballpark value on an Ocean City Panama 12/0 reel in EX- Condition? No box or papers, just one big hangin' reel. THANKS.

Ocean City reels have seen a big increase in prices as of late. VG condition should fetch about $130.00, and Exc. condition, over $225.00.
US dollars of course. Sounds like you have a good one on your hands. yay-banana

I will go $38.50 plus some postage if the thing is compleate and no broken sideplates! handle has to be good, spool decent , and runs true! The boat winch went bad , and those12/0s make a good boat winch! my address is in the directory Your Ohio Conection on lake Erie , Col. Milton Lorens aka SWIM JIG

VALUE CHANGED

Post by Stu Lawson »

Milt - There was only one Panama offered for sale during the sampling period for the last price guide, and it was a beater. Some values have gone up considerably since that book was published - and some have gone way down too. While I very much appreciate your offer of $38.50 for the reel, I must respectfully decline.

I swore I'd never do another reel price guide, but times have changed. There have been so many requests for an updated edition that I will do another one - probably a year out at this time.

Thanks to everyone else who responded to my question. / Stu

I watch for those big game Ocean City reels and I bet $400+ no problem on Ebay. I know Id like to have it - that is if it was for sale - and I had the money! Jeff
