I defer to the gentleman below.

A similar reel in Aluminum was the Gayle Simplicity.

I believe he's correct that this reel (steel?) is a Bronson.

There are alot of reels that look like this one. Not sure if all are the same maker. To me, it looks like it could be a Bronson made Union Jack fly reel., Model 2000. They were sold for 39 cents in 1933 and were still being sold in 1966. In 1966 they were selling for $2.95.

Thats my two cents. Anybody else care to shime in?
