Old Mustad Hooks For Sale

Post by Dr. Rob »

I was at the local Sportfishing Expo, and ran into a fellow who had come into a ton of NOS mostly Mustad hooks from way back and on, in sizes from very small up to 20 / 0 at least.

Long ones, short ones, brown ones, stainless ones, doubles, trebles, ones with forged fish, ones with chain, ones of all sorts.

Thing is, he didn't know what to do with 'em. So, being the helpful sort that I am, I figured someone at ORCA or Joes Old Lures would probably appreciate the opportunity.

Apparently the whole collection has been quite thoroughly sorted and photographed.

For sale by the little or by the lot. Otherwise it's Ebay. I have no economic interest in this; just being helpful.

Just realized it is probably not very nice to put the guy's email addy on the internet. PM me for addy; will be answered once daily.

I don't hang out at Joes. Pass it on-- surely someone wants to add to their own collection or to find the missing hook for that obscure old lure.

Doc.

The few labels I saw were red and stamped on the boxes. The hooks are old.

He is not skittish about his email adress; I thought I would do him the favor of not posting it on the internet.

EDIT:

He just sent me a giant PDF with pics. Some labels are stamped-on in red, other labels are yellow, blue, orange... Also sent inventory list (LOTS) and promised to get an page online in near future.

Mustad Extra Strong - trebles for ABU lures.

Post by ABUBO »

Hi Doc/Milt,
I'm looking for old Mustad Extra Strong hooks for old ABU lures. Most of these hooks are brown trebles in diff. sizes (6 - 1/0). What I'm not sure of is what (manufacturing) number they've got (mentioned on the boxes). As I recall the number is 72- or 73-something (a 4 digit no.) and I think the labels are green. Any with green labels in there Doc?

Also need some Mustad Extra Strong saltwater hooks sizes 4 to 1/0 for ABU's, but I have no clue as to what number they've got or to what colour label the boxes have.

Thanks,
Bo

Bo... Where ya been? Long time no see.

Yes, plenty of green labels. Just noticed that most appear to be single hooks, in the pictures anyway-- I didn't read the item list.

Really, best is to drop a PM with your email addy so I can forward the PDFs.
