Need help identifying this reel ? IZUM REEL ???

Post by snoekjaeger »

Hi,
Just a cheap reel I got of Ebay, just made me wonder who made it.
It has a harp engraved, above the harp is a sort of flying fish ?
Next to the harp is the word "TRADE" engraved
Name is partially gone, but what is left looks like ? I Z U M - ? E E ?
Could be Rizum Reel or ? Izum Bee ?

The reelfoot is not original I think.
Thanks for any help,
Jean-Paul

I had the same idea (I have some Olympic stuff in my collection - see pic below), but I don't know their early logo looked like the one on the reel.
The later logo (1970's and on) allways had the styled flying fish in combination with the Olympic rings.

Olympic was producing fishing reels very early, they even copied the half-bail Mitchell's.
Anyone has any early Olympic logo's ?
Did they make casting reels at all ?
