Langley lure cast

Post by Robin Sayler »

Did the langley lure cast 330 always have the metal rim around the non-handle side? I have a nice narrow spool one i picked up and it doesn't have one and it doesn't look like it ever did but the rest i've seen had them.

I assume you are referring to the palm rest. Early Langleys (most model baitcasters) had a 2 piece palm rest, one piece curving from 3 o'clock to 12 o'clock and one piece covering the foot screws. Later models had a one piece palm rest that went all the way around the tailplate. However, many reels (maybe most) have no palm rest at all, and I have to assume they were sold that way. Alan
