HS-l Ambassadeur casting reel

My husband came home with this reel and I cannot find out when it was produced, it is not even on Abu Garcia's home pages. It's brand new in box, has all the papers and schematics but every thing in the paper work is very generalized. I have the Specs, it is Instant Anti-reverse, dual cast control, multi disc star drag, High speed power retrieve, precision Brass Gears and 3 stainless steel bearing.
I will try to put up a photo.
I want to put this up on eBay but would like to know how old it is, It is as I mentioned NIB but ?when was it made?
The photo turned pretty light on me, but it gives you an idea, if it doesn't show I will have to come back later and try again

Hmm. Not exactly sure, Gramma. I mean, I'd guess say 1992, but really I'm not completely tuned in to the standard production model Ambassadeurs and all their variations.

Tell you what though-- there is another forum called Stripers Online, where a lot of the members are big Abuholics and remember all the regular models. You could always try there on the Main board.

Thank you very much Doc, I will go and check them out. I usually don't work with any newer reels, we have gone through a ton of old ones though and Slowly I was educated on the vintage ones.
