I am new to your board but do know a few of your members, most especially
Bulldog, who recommended I post this here.
I recently acquired this reel and would like to learn more about it, including value.
It has never been fished or lined for that matter.

jump jump usa , if my memory is still working, that REEL also came in a Presentation BOX with paperwork, The avearge price with all paperwork is $300.00 UP! I cannot give a value as it stands now however check the foot # and list it on this site, is it marked (5000C) rateher than just a 5000? also what is the #on the foot? That's a keeper! Your Ambassadeur reel is actually an Ambassadeur 5000 De Luxe. First ones came out in 1962 and last ones in 1973. They are 24K gold plated and very collectible. As Col. Milt said it would have originally came with a teak box, spare spool & parts, and paperwork. Value is closer to $500 and up if it is complete with the above mentioned parts. Randy
