Question on A&I reel

I was able to pick up another stop latch reel, the stop latch is a little different the the others I have. This one the latch is made of flat stock and not rounded like the others it also has a bend to it, I was wondering if the bent is suppose to be like that or straight? it seems to work fine as it is. The reel should be the top two pictured in the link, thanks. Mike

The A&I's with same markings to yours in my collection all have ball handles and the stop latches are straight.

Mike, I think the lever just got whacked from the right side, maybe by being dropped. Shouldn't be difficult to flatten out again.
