A reel steal. . . 'JEALOUSY'
According to Roger Schulz and Dave Ericson I stole (at $30) an excellent GS Montague made Pennell 'Special' just jealous I`d say, it is a bargain no
doubt. I also scored on a GS #3 Geo. Gayle, that 'Reel Doctor' Len Sawisch is willing to help me out with some needed maintenance and some clean up. To help pay for the Gayle I sold two high-end lures. . . "Reelief"

Hello
Having organized the ORCA breakfast here on this board, somehow communications got messed up. I thought that we were to meet at the Starbucks down in the lobby. Jim Garrett, Skip Brooks, myself and one or two others chatted happily away from 7 until 9:30 a.m. wondering where everyone was! Sorry we missed each other...oh well.
There were some very nice reels sold, and got to see some even better ones "hiding" under tables (and not for sale). All in all, 800 miles of driving in 24 hours, all my money was spent in two hours.
I bought a nice Fox gun co. reel I needed, a neat Shapleigh Winner Casting Reel (Montague), a nice Bullard & Gormley Green Lake, a Cataract Special to make up for the one that Paul Mortenson sniped me on eBay, and another nice Montague. Also got a VL&A fluted spinner in a box, a Burtis fluted, and a Shapleigh Spinner Fly new on the Norvell-Shapleigh card. Add first editions of Kimball's early books, Doc Herr's book on Hendryx, Jacomet's second edition River Runt CD, and every issue of the NFLCC Gazette since 1987 (I joined in 1991 so I was just buying to get the ones I needed; if anyone wants a complete run of 14 years of the gazette let me know). Also a really neat Bill Burgess (Maine) ephemera piece. Almost had to borrow money to get the car out of the parking garage.
Those scoundrels Garrett & Brooks stole my Bullard & Gormley Geneva reel that no less than FIVE people told me to go buy. Alas it was gone.
Lots of fun chatting with Erickson, Schulz, Muth, Foster, Bright, McBurney, Sonnett, Platt, Garrett, Brooks, Hays, et al. Worth every minute of the 12 hours of driving. Looking forward to ORCA nationals and NFLCC in Louisville only two hours away from me!
