Hi guys,

I've probably missed the copy of RN with the definitions of terms and so I have a really 'dimb' question.

What is a 'mooching' reel and what kind of fish was it made to catch? How is it used etc.? I have a Zebco Z300. It looks like big fly reel and according to the label it holds 950 yards of 15 lb. test line. Is this also called a salmon reel?

Spincast: a closed face reel in which the spinnerhead spins during the cast.
Examples include the Zebco 'Standard', 11, and 22.

Closed Face Spinning Reel: a reel in which the spinnerhead does not spin during the cast using a retractable pickup pin to engage and retrieve the line. Examples include the Zebco 33 and 44.

What do you guys think?

Regards,
Clinton
