Mitchell 408S pinion Gear No 83673

Hi

I am trying to find a Pinion Gear for a Mitchell 408S number 83673. I have gone through all my boxes of parts but I don't have one. I am also wondering if anyone knows if there is another gear that will sub for this one. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you

You might have a bit of a problem finding that part. The 408s were produced in VERY limited numbers. If the part you are looking for was made especially for the "s" model it could be a long wait...The regular 408 pinion gears show up on ebay somewhat frequently. Stranger things have happened though. Thank you for the information. A friend of mine in Hawii has one and it has worn out form years of fishing. He is having a lot of trouble finding parts and it is understandable as to why. Thank you again for the help

Thank you for the help. A friend of my is trying to find the part for his reel and it sounds like it was made for the S models. I couldn't help him and even though I deal with a lot of reels in the course of a year I have never come across one of these reels. Thank you again for the information
