Heading to Milwaukee???

Post by mortepa »

If you are going to the Milwaukee show and are looking for a good steak house to go to...ya gotta try this place:

and for those of you planning on trying some of the local brew, remember...drinking and trading do not mix!

I am looking forward to seeing many of you during room trading and at the show. :D

Hey - Thanks for the details - I'll be there on Saturday.
Unfortunately, I'll be looking for the Pfluegers too!
Hope you find the ones on your most wanted. Hope to meet you at the show as you have been of great help to me on this new venture call reel collecting!1 :D

There four days, being a reel guy a bit dissapointed, it was about 75%
lures, but did enjoy two reel guys; Andy Foster and Dwane Halverson
who both seemed to be enjoying the whole scene. Very noisy hotel walls
seemed like tissue thickness.
Saw old friends, good time overall. Next ?

It is true that this show is 75% lures, but I like them too! :D I had an absolute total blast, although I was only there Friday evening and Saturday. Thanks for the great night hanging out eating steak and drinking beer. I wish I could do it all over again.

I was unbelievably fortunate to add a couple pieces to my collection. If you want to see the prototype (I call it the Pflueger Sukron) up close, you will have to come to Fife for the National Convention. I also found a Pflueger trade "Silver King" reel. and finally, I just have to say thanks to the friends that were looking out for me to help me put that Sukron in my collection. I lost out on that reel years ago and I am thrilled to have it come back to papa. hehe

I don't go and delete old postings from Reel Talk. There are probably a hundred more that could be potentially removed too. I am not sure what criteria I would use to delete old posts either. (just 'cause they are old?, no reply posts?, no useful information pertaining to old tackle?, etc...) If the database ever gets to be so large that it is causing problems, I will definitely consider it. Until then, I don't see the harm in leaving obscolete posts out there. Especially if they contain pictures that someone might enjoy? Or information about one of the biggest shows of the year? Maybe you could explain your thoughts to me a little better and I might take a different view?

Thanks,
- Paul
