Any body collect spinning reels? Got a Question

Post by Robin Sayler »

I picked one up the other day among a group of reels in a box and I'm just curious about it.
On the side it says Scotchline #200. Pretty straight forward reel the bail closes when it hits the knob on the leg, and the lever next to the handle is the antireverse.

Thanks for any Info.

collecting spinning reels

I collect Airex and I found a Japaneze made reel the other day, (cant remeber the name) that had the same spool housing, bail wire, and bail wire pivots as yours pictured. I have several Airex Apache reels in my collection that have the same configuration. HMMMMM Bob H.---->The Airex Guy

:D  :) 8) :!:  :type: jump usa , OK you 2, I bought a deal from a tackle store and what was in it , but a lot of brand new bail wires that fit these low end reels including the (707 ZEBCO spinning reels) Whom ever designed these things actualy done us a favor, they will go either right of left, NO bail spring to worry about that is always breaking, and if these bail wires get bent , it easy to re bend and presto, your back in business and fishing again, (Note) I have at least 7 different reels that use that preloaded spring wire! I belive it was way ahead of its time! Your Ohio Conection On a very wet Lake Erie, Col. Milton lorens aka SWIM JIG .

younguy,
According to Ben Wright's book Scotchline was "made in Japan" circ. 1960's. They offered a 200,225,400,600 and 750 model. The 600 was a Mitchell 300 copy. The 750 was saltwater. Price ranges from a wopping $20-$30. A box would be a bit higher. Hope this helps.
