I picked up this unusual unidentified reel at an estate sale. The reel measures approximately 3-3/4 inches from pillar to pillar with a spool diameter of 3" and a width of 1-7/8". The reel weights about 8 oz. The head plates are of green anodized aluminum, with a crank handle of the same color and dark red plastic knobs. The reel has an approximate retrieve ratio of 3.3 to 1. The reel uses two small knobs centered in the middle of a shaft on the crank handle . This is the adjustable drag. The reel has a sliding fish alarm button at the 5'o’clock position close by the adjustable left knurled bearing knob. The spool is totally exposed and is held in place by post and stand. I will try and post a PIX of the reel.
Anybody with any information about this reel will be greatly appreciated. Thank you. Ed

It's a French CADOR, CADOR made a wide range of alum. reels.
This one is from the NY Quadrupple series (there is also a NY fly-reel series)
Cador started making reels in approx 1945, they stopped in 1966.
Early Cador were black, later most series cames in a range of colors (red, green,...)
Here's some CADOR :

If you click at the picture that's next the SERIE NY, you will see another reel like yours (next to the one in the preview).

CADOR Reel
Hi Jean-Paul,
Thank you very much for the information you furnished us. It is amazing how knowable reel collectors are and are so generous with their time. I am looking forward to meeting some friends that I have corresponded with over the years at the national in Dowagiac this coming year. Again, thank you. Old Ed of the California Delta
