November Reel News

Post by Richard Lodge »

Folks: I mailed the November Reel News the last week of October from West Groton, Mass. The September issue was very delayed in arriving in some parts of the country and my postmistress noted fall is a time when mail order catalogues flood the mail and jam up mail sorting centers. Please keep in mind The Reel News is mailed at a low non-profit rate, which keeps our costs and our dues down, but it means delivery is very slow, depending on where you live in the U.S. I can't do anything to speed delivery but I do try to get the magazines in the mail the last week of the month before the date of the issue (ie: end of October for the November issue). The November Reel News does has a renewal form and, when the mag arrives, I encourage everyone to send their renewals to Roger, whose address is listed on the form. The form also includes a bunch of items from the ORCA store. Thanks for your patience and I hope everyone has a happy and safe Thanksgiving.

Just keep up the good work that you do Richard! We wouldn't be in such a hurry to receive it if it wasn't a good Magazine. You can start worrying when it's late and no one complains.

It's worth the wait, Boyz..Dr. Larson does a fantastic job on an article about Marshall Field and RAM's top five saltwater reels article was also great...even though he picked all the wrong reels :D ..Big Jim reports on a ton of big buys on the bay and Milt tops it off by showing us how to fix a reel that doesn't exist! Pls forgive what I've left out...doing this from memory and ...uh...what was I saying?..I better go clean a couple reels.

Thanks for the input guys. I'm not complaining, I was just wondering if it had been released. Richards right about bulk, etc. type of mailing at this time of year. I will be patient and watch the mail box. Everyone have a nice Thanksgiving, Bob Halver---->The Airex Guy
