I'm new here. Hi All! I was told on Joes Old Lures that I need to post these here (I'm a lure guy). I'm not sure what the larger Ky. style reel is. Looks like the Vom Hofe but not sure. These all came for the same estate. Need values as well. Some of these are priced but I don't know if prices are current,...just took a stab at it based on the limited reel books I have. These will all be for sale so don't be shy but please be fair. Not positve how to post links & pictures here but I'll try. Thanks so much for any help. Stew
The S-handle reel next to the Vom Hofe is a mystery reel, New York-style, with a knob like the ones shown here: http://orcaonline.org/images/pixel.gif? ... /Mo/Mo.htm
The four-armed reel is a Rider, the first "official" Indiana reel. Surprised it isn't marked.
I'll let other folks guess at values.
THE MITCHELL 300 WITH THE BOX IS VERY COLLECTABLE IF YOU HAVE MOST OF THE PAPERWORK.THERE IS ALWAYS SOME ON EBAY, I HAVE A FEW IN MINT COND. ID BE INTRESTED FOR MY COLLECTION, REELMAN300
The Johnson Century reel is sold. The hubcap Indiana style reel is an rare Easycast reel made in Kendallville, Ind. & has metal crank knobs - value?. The Rider is marked & also has pat. applied for stamped on back. Asking $150 for it. The J.Vom Hofe I'm told is a very early, possibly pre-patent model so $500. Mitchell 300 reel in box $50. Also have a Defiance reel that I can't find info on $45. It's the KY style one with the white ivory crank knob. I also have taken many detailed pics of the unknown NY reel if any one would like to see more detailed pics. I have found a 2 letter or number enscription on all the parts of this reel but don't know the meaning or significance of this? Thanks again to Steve Vernon, John Elder, Steve Knier, Dean Smith,Laurie Bingham, Len Sawisch, & Richard Lodge for helping... Looks like I found another bunch of good people here. Best, Stew
