Pigeon Forge Finds

Post by Jim Nedela »

Picked up a Shakespeare Hercules in the box with papers. Has an NRA (National Recovery Act) label on the paper. From the 1930's, during the New Deal administration of F. D. R.

A neat Indiana reel-"Kelly" is the name I was told, 1916. Would like any additional info I can get on it.

Eppinger model 25 -when I got hame, found it was a duplicate, so willing to trade it.

Looking for a Shakespeare Professional in 60 yd size.

Jim, the Kelly reel was written up in the Nov., 2002, issue of Reel News. However, since then it's been discovered that the reel appears to have been advertised as early as 1916, even though it wasn't patented until 1933. Very odd. Once an invention has been displayed or sold to the public, it's supposed to be ineligible for a patent. :bash:
