A.F. Meisselbach Reel Field find need info

Post by dano2158 »

Hi, I know nothing about reels and need some info on a Reel. I bought this Meisselbach reel made in Elyria OH. USA. It is either Bake lite or hard Rubber. white knobs on the handles. There is a Large G with a M and I in the center of the G. I need to get a ball park value so I can part with it. Nothing major I am sure but would lke to know. Thanks for any info. Reel will be for sale as soon as I get a idea what it is worth. I will trade for Creek chubs and older Paw Paw lures. I Would post a pic of the reel but I am working on the road and the wife has the digital at home. Thanks for any help. Dan

The logo you are referring to is the logo of General Industries Co. the parent company of A. F. Meisselbach Mfg. Co. of Elyria, Ohio. There are a whole bunch of 1934-40 Meisselbach reels with Bakelite side plates. I have no idea which one you have. However, none of them are worth very much. Unless it is mint it probably is in the $15-35 range.
