:D 8) :) :!:  :type: jump canadian usa , Tony for the most parts, this was a indrustrial arts item, it taught us wood turning on a wood lathe, it taught us how to form metal, and we learned how to cut threads on the South bend lathes! not use a DIE! The cost of the materal cost around $4.00 at that time 1954 The finish on the wood could be varnish which water would ruin or another material which would turn white it water got on to it! We were allowed to put a name on it, I made mine for my dad,& our intials or a assigned # was put in the metal and wood so we could identify our work! call them what you want, PROTO TYPES , Folk Art or a Industrial ART, for a decent grade! I would belive Canada also used this as a class project! Enjoy it as to do one took the whole semister to do at 45 mins a day!
