Please forgive me if I fail in any way or make a protical mistake. Plaes allow me to introduce myself. My name is Scot. I resently had my in-laws come and live with us. Bill my father-in-law did alot of fishing in his days but due to health reasons he has slowed down. He has 4 old Pflueger reels that he would like to know if they have any value. He ask me to see if I could fine any information. I came across your web site. After looking over your web site I felt that this is the place to fine out some information. My question is there any book that would help me or any way anyone of the members could help me. Please e-mail me back with any helpful information or instruction to get more information.
Many Thanks Scot
Value of some reels
Scott,
You've come to the right place and welcome! There are very few books on reels in general and of the ones that are out there, many of their authors are regulars right here on this forum. I'd say the best way to get a quick idea of what you have is to go look them over and describe the markings on your reel in another post here. Most important for value, providing some photos would be best so an evaluation can be made on their condition. Pflueger mass produced thousands of reels but there are a few models that may be more valuable so it pays to check!

As with so many other collectibles, one of the quickest & easiest ways to learn about current "value" is to look over eBay & its completed auctions. Plug in Pflueger & the model name/number & have a go at it. Most common Pflueger models appear regularly, if you've got something not seen on eBay that should tell you something about its rarity.
