ocean city fishing reels

Hello I recently found an Ocean City baitcasting reel. On the left side it has the number 1581 with the words Ocean City Reels Best in Fishing surrounding the number. On the other side it says Ocean City made in USA Philadelphia, it has a cork spool. the reel is attached to a metal rod approx. 5 ft. long with offset guides. Does anyone know when this reel was manufactured and its approx. value. Does anyone know where I can get parts or does anyone have knowledge of the rod. thanks.

The Ocean City 1581 is probably the cheapest reel Ocean City (Philly, PA) made. If you need parts, the best thing you can do is go on e-bay and buy another reel. Value in great condition is only about $3.00. Parts are no longer available from the manufacturer. If you have a name on the rod (perhaps on the reel seat under the reel) you may be able to find more information on it. Otherwise only someone famalier with old rods will be able to help you.
