Al's net worth when he was veep was pegged at between one and two million dollars. As of yesterday it was estimated at one HUNDRED million dollars. Most of that is the value of stock received as compensation from his association with Microsoft and Apple Computer (source Nashville Tennessean 7/05/07). Doubt if he will flush all that stock to run for pres.
As little as I know about computers I suspect I know as much as Al. Could one of you with connections get me on the board of one of those companies? I could also advise them equally as well (maybe more honestly) as Al on global warming and likely better on old reels.
Bad Bob (whose net worth is about as valuable as his advice)
well, Bob...maybe that means he really did have more to do with the advent of the internet than people care to admit Bill and Steve never gave him stock out of the goodness of their hearts. .and we should give poor Al a rest...he's got enough to deal with re the Prodigal Son.
Today's smart politicians don't take bribes while in office; they just make millions after they retire by serving on the boards of the companies they helped while in office.
Oh, yes...right Geez...I completely forgot about Cheney. ..oh, but i guess he subscribed to the pre-pay plan...what was that company? harryburton?...halleberry?...but I digress...
Deacon - that was a bipartisan statement. You forget that Cheney was a politician before he went to Haliberry. The party doesn't turn them into crooks, politics does. We take wonderful care of our US Royalty, and so do corporations from all over the world.
To Steve: Odds that Al wrote the "High-Perfomance Computer ect. Act of 1991" are about as good as mine at winning the lottery, which I don't play. But it was just delightful reading! Not nearly so boring as Al is when speaking. BB
