Proposed "special carbon tax": Having been determined by the "soon-to-be in control of our lives" that going fishing qualifies as unnecessry travel, the cost of all fishing licenses will be a minimum of $100 annually, the concept being that such expenditure will discourage fishing trips and will reduce carbon emissions. All fishing trips via air will be subject to an additional $100 tax.
Also being considered is a "value added tax" to be placed on all sporting event tickets, likewise designed to reduce unnecessary travel. One hundred thousand fans driving to a UT football game is absolutely unaccptable. Other similar frivolous adventures (e.g. ORCA National Meets) are being scoped for some form of taxation.
