Alaska and Hawaii share what I consider to be an interesting weather record.
Can you name it? Googling might help, but then it might not. But why cheat?
Bad Bob
Little quiz
Brian, not knowing this won't cause any problems for you, but you must admit that the weather does sometimes change there. You almost got flooded out! How often does that happen?
Now, once you have the answer to this question you can impress your Hawaiian friends with this nifty little tidbit of meterological history. Try! BB

Both have had weather every day since they were discovered.
Their solstices fall on the same day, and their New Years occur simultaneously.
Both were once connected to Asia by land bridges. Pineapples migrated to HI from Siberia over such a bridge. The bridges were destroyed by global warming.
Neither has had a dust storm for weeks.
Alaska will be directly over Hawaii once we crush that doggone Juan de Fuca plate and slide over the Pacific plate.
Why do you ask?

Congratlations Steve! Didn't think anyone would get the correct answer much less cover all of them.
The answer I was seeking was: Alaska and Hawaii share the record for the lowest high temperature ever recorded in each of the 50 states (100 degrees) recorded in Fort Yukon AK in 1915 and in Pahala HI in 1931. Global warming was worse in both the vicinity of the arctic circle and the Tropic of Cancer earlier in the 20th century than previously thought.
There you go Brian-Another amazing little HI trivium with which to hit your friends! Notice I did not end this sentence with a preposition, and how long has it been since you saw the singular of trivia?
The Baddest One
PS The record for TN was 113 set in 1930, higher than the all time record for GA, AL, or Fl. Yesterday it was 104 here. The record for that date was set in 1952 (105). Glad its getting a little cooler in any event!
