If it rained for forty days and forty nights, which of the following would happen?

1) The Geezer would stop smallmouth fishing.
2) It still wouldn't rain in West Nashville.
3) A massive class action suit would be initiated against FEMA for failure to foresee the impending flood and for being slow to provide aid for the survivors.
4) Nothing would happen in Hawaii as it often rains in places there for 40 days and 40 nights.
5) Al would issue a press release blaming it on the failure of the Republicans to endorse the Kyoto Accord.
6) There would be a big family argument on the Ark II over whose turn it was to go feed the da-n lions.
6) All of the above
7) None of the above

Inquiring minds want to know! Bad Bob

I'd hope I had enough beer to last the 40 days then replenish and wait for the next round...

It is obvious Jerry knows his Old Testament. It is interesting to note that as soon as Noah got off the Ark and unloaded (carefully) who knows how many irrate beasties, said "Let's get nekked and get drunk!" and proceded to do so. A shame he didn't have ice cold Michelob Ultra and had to settle for cheap wine, undoubtedly warm. Its right there in the HB. Read it for yourself. Old Noah knew how to unwind! Aloha from Mt. Ararat (or was it Everest?).

Surely some of you irreverent (ok, pagan) reel guys checked me out and read about the "Noah got nekked and soused" thing. I mean, what would you have done after going through something like that? Even if the fish were biting, that was a long time to spend on a boat without any sleep and no clear weather for over a month!
How controversial do I have to get to stir up meaningful discourse? This isn't about religion Brian. It's about when it's appropriate to get nekked and soused!

Bad Bob (Have done both, as best I recall. Everything is getting more difficult to recall now, however. Maybe it was a dream.)

In my youth I did get soused and then nekked..but rarely the other way round..once nekked I tended towards activities that precluded getting soused. Once soused however, all manner of activities, some sensible, most not, presented themsleves for my evaluation and selection, though at that point the evaluation process was inherently flawed and so the efficacy of the selection process must necessarily be re-evaluated through the older and wiser eyes provided by the passage of time.

I've been known to get a little soused now and then. It actually helped my pflueger collection quiet a bit! After the judgment gets a little looser It helps buy some nice reels. I remember at dowagiac it helped buy a nice one that earlier in the day I was second guessing.

If it rained for that long I imagine I would load all my reels...or at least the nice ones in my kayak and head for the biggest arc i could find, or maybe grab some scuba gear and head for Bobs!

Interesting thought...If there was a flood and an arc would they allow anything on the arc that said shakespeare on it?

The Ark, and which reels would be allowed

Good afternoon up there Robin:

I have it on good authority that God has a fondness for fishermen. And having mentioned this, I hope that He doesn't ask our late...and great friend Harvey Garrison to answer your question, because if He does, I hope that you are wearing flame proof underwear!

When you have some time. you might enjoy reading a number of Harv's posts in Reel Talk, in which he expresses his feelings about the "other" (non Shakespeare) brand of reels. Bless his soul; Harv left all those great Pfluegers for us to cherish.

Tell us lots of fish tales upon your return. Much more interesting than how Noah got soused.

I wonder if Noah would let me install downriggers on the Ark?

looked, it rained 40 days and 40 nights in Texas this summer, and then some.
I went fishing.
I just watched USGS and kept going west and upriver when I needed to to find clear water.
You don't need an ark until you get down to Choate or Karnes City.
