Fake or real Winchester reel???

Post by Steve K »

I found this old dirty spin casting reel in an old bunch of reels I bought last week for parts. It looks a lot like an old South Bend; H-I, or other spin casting reel. However the name Winchester is printed crudely on the side in white ink.
Did somebody market these for Winchester?
Thanks for any help...

Winchester Reel

Winchester was out of the fishing tackle business around 1931. Does that answer the question?

Thanks Phil for the response..
I suspected as such. It's amazing where that name shows up, and on the vast array of items.
Would make a nice projectile for the ugly reel toss.
