a reel good omen?

Post by Penobscot Bill »

Moved into our new place yesterday and on the way back to U-Haul to return the trailer, I passed a tackle store, which I went back to later. The gentleman behind the counter was friendly enough and after I paid for a fishing license I mentioned that I collect old fishing tackle and did he have any that he might be interested in selling? He showed me lots of 1970s and 1980s lures from a couple of the big names, all new on the cards. About a dozen boxed reels same era. He said it all had been put up on the boards about ten years ago, but didn't sell much. I say it was hiding in plain sight. We struck a deal and I left with two big boxes filled with 25+ year old tackle. That happened less than 24 hours after our arrival here in Allentown. Is that a good sign, or what? Its 10pm, do you know where your micropterus dolomieu is?
