Here the official picture from the first day of duck season. I hunted down in wisconsin at my buddy Dan's "River Camp" in Oconto Wisconsin (yeah its where we lost the motor, it worked great this weekend.) In total we got 12 Geese and 16 Ducks. the Geese were all Canada Geese and the ducks were: Mallards, Shovelers, Teal, Pintail, Gadwall, and Widgeon. The dog in the front is Tucker the yellow lab, Sunday he slept all day, never moved from the couch. He did a great job retrieving ducks form the cattails all day. I'm the second guy from the left in the back row right next to the giant of a guy.
Quite a variety of ducks you guys got there. My front yard is a USF&W Refuge. We used to have up to 750,000 Mallards here every year, but we're now happy to see 35,000 in late fall. I loved just walking across the road where I had a great floating blind. It was lots of fun to call in ducks. As an old geezer now, I really don't care for cold weather.
