The secret to my "Can't Go Wrong" investment method has not elicited sufficient interest to really risk its disclosure. But since the ones who have responded are obviously known (from unimpeachable sources) to truly be in need of such an opportunity, I will provide the advice. Only requirement (strictly voluntary of course) is to send to me, at your earliest convenience, one or both of the following reels:

100 yard size Seminole in GUN METAL finish only
Any size Atlas in GUN METAL finish only

Now for the secret of the three step guide to a safe, high return, no risk investment!

Step 1) Cut up all your credit cards immediately! Have courage! Be ruthless! Cut them up! As soon as you do, the temptation to over spend will be done away with! Pay CASH for everything. If you don't have the cash you can't afford it anyhow!

Step 2) Set up a monthly plan to pay off your cut-up credit card balance. Do not-I repeat-DO NOT merely pay the minimum required payment! You will not live long enough to pay off the balance!
Every payment you make saves you an average of 18% ! That is 18% the credit card company will NOT get from you! If your balance is maxed out at ten K, you are paying $1,800/year interest! Think of the reels you can buy with $1,800!

Step 3) After the balance is payed in full and you feel the uncontrolable urge for another credit card, use one of the 20 or so applications you get each month and get a new one. But this time PAY YOUR BALANCE OFF EVERY MONTH! The worst they can do is call you a "Deadbeat" (bank lingo for guys like me). They will hate you but are helpless to do anything about it! Paying your balance in full will help improve your credit report . It will not any longer say "This guy either has no money or is a world class mullet! Send him more card applications!"

Pay yourself, not the card company and net 18% or more for old number 1!

Send reels to my address shown in the ORCA Directory BB

Geeeeeeze Bob: I've got a better answer.

Follow your first two steps, then get a Cabela's credit card. They give you points to purchase fishing stuff. 1% for every dollar charged, or 2% for all credit purchases from them. We've been using one of their cards for years, and I've been able to add Loomis rods and high dollar Japanese reels for nothing. It was really great when we were traveling a lot and put airline tickets, motels, etc. on the card. Then we came home and paid off the card balance, and I would find something neat in their catalog to add to my fishing arsenal.

There are lots of other companies with similar plans to fit any interest - I'm not trying to plug Cabela's.

Bob, what if you only have one credit card and you pay the balance each month, thereby never being charged any interest? No fees either!

To Don- Re-read step three. Obviously you and Phil are both ahead of the game. Monthly pay-off frustrates the card companies (they really do refer to us as "deadbeats"). Always good to have a credit card to buy stuff online or phone. You guys aren't making 18%. You are AVOIDING paying 18%. Its the guys with the carried balance who can make the big savings.
Why use your money to buy a CD at 4.5% when you can pay off the card at 18%. Net %13.5%!

To Phil-Lots of cos. do have deals like that. Always sounds tempting, but get enough credit cards and your chances of ID theft go up accordingly. Cabelas couldn't offer such a deal if there wern't mullets out there carrying a fat, interest charging balance. Folks like you and Jack are scarce (and typically geezers). Read the fine print and let us know what Cabellas interest rate is for carried balances.

Will be looking for the reels! BB

PS Try using your Cabellas card at Orvis! I know, Phil. You don't do Orvis.

Wrong again!
Try using your Cabellas card at Orvis! I know, Phil. You don't do Orvis.
. We had a wonderful tour of the Orvis Museum a year ago during the ORCA Convention. The Rubber Reel Lady went down to the Orvis store while I toured the museum. Orvis was very happy to take our Cabela's card. It has also been used at Bass Pro Shop and many other smaller competitors.

FYI: Cabela's Card interest rate is 9.99% on Cabela's purchases; 16.24% on other purchases; and 20.24% on cash advances.

Addition: The RRL insists that I correct this post and state that the card is a Cabela's Visa Card, not just a Cabela's card.

What do you mean wrong AGAIN Phil? This is the first time! And I really wasn't wrong. It was a Visa card. Anybody will take Visa, whether it belongs to you or not. Only one in every 20 or so stores asks for ID from me. And it isn't the honest look either. All they care about is the sale. Hmmm! 16.24%. Not bad.

Some guy down your way offered to send me some carbon points or certificates or something, if I would say "AGAIN". He said he had a score to settle with you. Who can deny a Nobel Prize winner?
