Received a "spoof" this morning, with a realistic eBay-like format, asking for "account confirmation" information--ebay and email passwords, etc.
You should forward similar garbage to ***email address removed***.
(Yes, this may be the wrong forum for this warning, but at least you're reading it.)

Very scary tactics
Besides the fake ebay and paypal emails, I've been getting some very realistic looking html type emails from various "companies" that have made themselves look like legitimate communications from one of my credit card companies, a mortgage company I used to go through, and some others. They never fail to ask for personal info or at the very least, your user name and log in password to "update" your account.
I can see how easy it is to fool someone by doing this. Just remember that just about every company will never do anything like that through email communication and that they will always require you to log in securely on your browser through their website (or at least thats what they say on their websites).
Please be careful.
