TV commercials frequently advise you to "Call now! Operators are standing by!"
Two questions: What percent on average are actually standing? Shouldn't OSHA require seats for all of the people answering the phone?
Bad Bob, who wonders about such important things!
Inquiring minds want to know!

Called Bell South tech support some time back trying to make my laptop work wireless. Got a nice lady in India who I couldn't understand. She got a second lady-also from India-on the line at the same time to help. Couldn't understand her either. Changed my modum as directed after 30 minutes of repeating questions and answers. Needed to pee real bad as nerves were getting frayed! Then I couldn't get on the internet at all. Told the ladies goodbye in frustration, called tech support again and got a chap in Manila who I could understand. He helped get the modem working again, but I never solved the problem (trying to make it work wireless). Have never called tech support since.
