Your father and you have shown the board what a team can do. I think if there was any doubt over the energy you have brought in as a newbie on the board it just left. You must be as proud of your father as he is of you. Very well done guys and looking forward to future posts. Glenn Grady

Fishbug - That reel is australian I believe. Let me get some close pic's. I got it really cheap from someone at an NFLCC show. I'll respond in a few...
That is what I call a collection. Reelman is your last name Gates or Buffet? You must have a fortune in that collection!
It is way cool. What vintage is your fighting chair? I've never been deep sea fishing or big water fishing. The pictures I am used to show a chair with a gimbal between the fishermans legs. In your set up it look like one would have to fight his catch from one side or the other. Am I missing something?
Dave
OK, just went back and saw the gimbal on your chair. That looks like a major move to take the rod out of the side slot on the chair to the gimbal in the middle. Must happen with the reel free spinning eh?
Fishbugman - Sorry it's not australian... It's from South Africa.
If you do a google search for them there is ton's of info on them. I believe these reels Brand New were around $400.00? I picked mine up for $70 not knowing what it was...neither did the seller.

Dave, If they did troll with rods in that position, a deck hand would simply pass the rod to the angler. With a chair that nice, there should be a few deckhands around on the boat!
I bought an old Barber Chair at a garage sale last month. Think I could mount it in a boat and add a gimbal? Must weigh a couple of hundred pounds!
I'm a sick collector. Not only do I collect Bronson reels but I have a few straight razors and razor sharpening gizmos, a harmonica collection, old wrenches, signs and Tom Clark gnomes.
My wife hates the clutter. I love it. Some day I'll open the shop and sell what I want and put a really high price on stuff I'd rather not sell ie barber chair and the two "Reel -O-Mines" that I own.
Emil Policansky was quite a pioneer of salt water fishing tackle, and his reels were (and are) quite popular with adherents. Ran across him when I was researching Bruce Heitman, who used to rep and service Policansky in America. Here's some of their latest offerings and a brief history:
I went there last year, and got a lap dance from a girl I met on Locogringo! "Fun Times, Fun Times"
I've been to Mexico 4 times around Cozumel.
Going back on November 15 to Cozumel for 1 week.
I'd like to add, while I was in Akumal there was a nice little fishing bar stuffed with old rod's and reels. I saw a few things that I would've bought but didn't want to look like a fool buying there decorations.
Question... Top pic, two grey reels in the row on the bureau, closest to the camera... First one in row, and fifth in line (just before the International 30)...
What are they? Recognize, but not completely. Hard to see.
