CUT THE GUY SOME SLACK! I am certainly not trying to act as justice of the peace, but none of us know everything. The longer you have been collecting reels the more you know. However, every one of us once was a newbie at reels and collecting and the associated knowledge. Sometimes it just takes a suggestive private email to explain the right way or the wrong way of using this website, explaining the unwritten rules of procedure. It is hard to blame someone for youthful exuberance and passion for reels and reel knowledge, even if it was like watching a car do mach3 thru the school cross walk. If it was done wrong, just explain how to do it right.
Very few sellers take the time to offer the reels here first before taking them onto EBAY. Stu Lawson, John Elder, Reelman1988, among others, should be commended for doing so. High price, low price...that doesn't matter...it either sells or doesn't. $40 shipped seems like a pretty fair price for a reel in its original box. Might not be what I collect or what you collect, but maybe someone does. Having it offered here first is better than not having it offered here at all.
We need to encourage new & younger members to contribute -- not jump on everything they try to do.
When we pass on from this life, we won't take our horde of reels with us. But maybe we can instill, in the younger generation an appreciation of our hobby -- along with a little knowledge gained along the journey.
That is the most we can hope to pass on.
We need to guide constructively -- not preach from on high.
I appreciate those who offer reels for sale on this board. If there is no interest -- it just moves on to another selling venue -- but at least we get an opportunity to keep it in the family.
Notice : in the corner of the box it comes with original washers for the spool with the airex name on the envelope. Last chance, these are older pic's when I recieved the reel and it was put in storage/ will dig out and take more pic's for eBay.
