Saw your pictures showing Canadian reels,Nice work!
A while back I picked up a Laurentian No1 on eBay along with another fly reel I was bidding on.It is a sweet ,simple, single action dry fly reel.Iwonder what you might know of it's history and value
Thanks in advance,

Bill, Lawson Machine Works was a metal fabricating company in Montreal and turned part of its business to fishing reels after WW II. They made several baitcasters, several fly reels and possibly (later) some spinning reels. They also marketed trade reels, one of which is pictured in my photo gallery, the Hudson Reelmaster. It is identical to the Lawson 46. As for the fly reels, there were at least 4, No. 1 to 4 Laurentian. Anyone with additional information, please contact me (), I will try to put together an article for the REEL NEWS. Alan

Alan,
thanks for the reply.Since there were at least four models of the Laurentian,I guess that refers to size? #1 being the smallest?
I find my self comparing them to the Ocean City #'s 35,36&306 but with a beter pawl drag.
