I have a six pack of Garcia Mitchell 300 reels which is hardly ever found or even seen. There was one other but he ended up breaking up the set and selling them off separately. What a Shame.
What I have was purchased from my friend Doug DeSimone, one of two surviving sons of Louis DeSimone. Louis was President of Impecco, LTD, the exclusive import company for Mitchell, France to Garcia here in The States. This six pack was never given to Garcia and ended up as part of Louis' collection thus inherited by Doug.
Last year we opened up the box for the first time out of curiosity. They were as we thought, the very last version of the Classic Mitchell 300. I need to sell for many reasons so; do I sell these separately or insist on keeping them intact?
Values on each vary a lot depending on who's bidding. The past shows from $150 to $250 each. The historic value is only good to the Mitchell fanatics, like me. To keep them intact and forgetting historic value; I'd like to sell the six pack for $1,200 but will consider a reasonable offer.
You can see these in my own web hosting gallery at http://gallery.me.com/mitchellreels#100 ... &view=grid
Questions are always welcome. Thanks, Wallace, MMF
