Geography trivium-but interesting!

Post by RAM »

Almost no one ever gets this question correct, so I won't ask it expecting an answer (may have already). Which U.S. state is farthest E,W,N,S. ?

Now I will answer it anyhow. Only two states are involved, and I mentioned both in my last inane post on hours of daylight. They are Hawaii (farthest south) and Alaska. that's right-Alaska is the farthest E,W, and N. How so east? Easy, but slightly technical. Alaska goes so far west that part of it is past the 180 degree meridian dividing the east and west hemispheres, so it qualifies as both farthest east and west. And, of course, north. Maybe none of you (except maybe the Alaskans) care, but I think that is a cool geographical fact!

yes, you rang the bell on that one, BB! Great factoids! I wonder whether Mother Palin will run her Ex-almost son-in-law off to the East, North, or West? I'm thinking his Alaskan Adventure may be nearing an end..

Well, at least that adventure. Nothing stays in the closet anymore, does it?
