A Cleaning question

Post by BruceHandley »

Once I mix up a "batch" of vinegar and water( 3 to 1), how long can I use that "batch" before I should mix another? Also whats the strongest % of acidity that I can get in vinegar?

Hello Bruce,

I keep my mix in a air tight container to prevent evaporation and have used it quite a few times and it still works fine. As for the acid levels of vinegar _ Sorry can't help you . It must be very low if we use it in food preparation .

Think it ranges from 5-9% acetic acid? Googled it up once...if important, can be done again. As Kingfisher indicated, it will last awhile, although you will see discoloration after some jobs. i usually lob it then...or when my wife glares at me and asks "WHAT'S THAT DOING STILL SITTING BY THE SINK?!"

ps: If you have a Costco nearby, or equivalent...that's the place to buy...comes in 2 gal jugs, if I recall...

Thank you both for the feedback. About the best I can find in my area is a bit over 5% but it works ok if I give it enough time to work. I'll change it out when it gets on the dark side, and when my wife isn't home!
