Tip of the hat to Jim Brown....

Post by Richard Lodge »

I received my Reel News today, embarrassed to say it's the first time I've missed writing my "Reels on the Net" column in a long time. But it was a great edition and the best part was Jim Brown's exceptional letter critiquing Carl Caiati's book on reel collecting. Rather than lash out in a personal attack, like Mr. Caiati did toward our humble Reel NEws editor Phil White, Jim focused on the book and its many errors and omissions. As a newspaper editor, I work hard for accuracy but I also am willing to admit our errors, and to correct them promptly. ONe can only wonder if Mr. Caiati will be contacting his publisher, seeking a second edition that has been properly edited and corrected.
Thanks for an entertaining letter, Jim. And thanks to all the writers for a great edition of the Reel News!
