I acquired a rod and reel from my father, who got it from his father, or grandfather...or something.
Anyways, I was looking over it, and frankly I cannot find much of any information on the clues that I can get.
On the reel, there is a label, a red and green one. Though of course, that happens to be the one place that it is chipped. From what we can make out, the bottom green area reads either "Steel Bearing" or something, with "Genuine Mahogany" under it. Atop those two lines, inside the red, it reads something that we cannot quite make out. But it appears the last three letters are "one", with what appears to be two z's in front of it, this reading "zzone" with 1-2 more letters in front of that. Possibly a Cozzone, but I havent ever seen a pic of one that looks nearly as old as this one.
I also cannot quite ID the type of reel, it appears to be made of the same wood as rod (mahogany), so I feel they were of the same set from the beggining. This is strange, for the reel appears to be a fly reel, but the rod does not.
The rod's label is red and cream (used to be white maybe?). The red encircles the cream/white. Within the red it reads (on top) "Hy-Grade tackle". The bottom part reads "Newark.N.J.". Within the white/cream circle it reads "ED. Davis".
I cant say I know how to describe anymore, hopefully soon I can have pictures of it. I am a bit of a newbie, looking to get into the old rods and reels (as I already have some nice baitcasters). So I figure Ill start by getting some research for info done on this setup here.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Mystery R&R
The best advice I can give, Post pics. in good detail like close ups of
reel should be both sides and a close up of the reel seat from the
bottom, do that and I`m sure you`ll get responses from us.
