In the day prior to taxation, three ladies share expenses equally on a $30 hotel room. Fact: Each lady paid $10 and 3 ladies times $10 each equals $30
After the ladies paid and went to their room, the desk clerk realizes he overcharged them. Desk clerk gives the bellhop five one dollar bills to refund to the ladies. On the way to ladies room, bellhop decides it is far too difficult to divide $5 between three ladies, so he puts $2 in his pocket, knocks on the door and gives the ladies each a dollar back.
The 3 ladies are now thrilled since $10 minus $1 means they paid $9 each. Fact: The ladies paid $27 total and 3 ladies times $9 each equals $27
So, the ladies paid $27 plus the $2 the bellhop put in his pocket. Fact: $27+$2 equals $29 Where did the other $1 go from the original $30 the ladies paid?
Are you a math wizard?

Okay...I'm an excellent patsy...and definitely not a math wiz.
A: there is no missing dollar...there was a total of 30 bucks in play...the hotel kept 25...the gurlz got 3 and the bellhop stole 2...that's 30. problem comes in counting the overage twice, methinks. the gurlz should have paid $8.34 apiece, not $9. .I really hate math...and it's unfortunately because everything in our world is about math...sigh...
