Need help identifying a reel, looks like a #380 Zephyr.
I have a plated reel with the exact construction and specs of a Meisselbach #380 Zephyr. However, it does not have a removable click spring. The click mechanism is located on the top of the frame bridge but, the click spring is attached by two rivets. The frame, spool and flared knob is exactly like the one Phil White's book on page 40. The spool size is 2 1/4" by 1". The only marks on the reel are on the base of the frame bridge and it is stamped U.S.A. The reel stand is inserted through the two bottom post but looks a lot like the stand on the reel on page 40. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Not a Zephyr
Randy,
The Zephyr has what appears very much like a Pflueger foot, but there are no markings at all including no USA stamp. The click button is at 12 o'clock and the spring is held in place with a screw at 6 o'clock between two pins. The tailplate frame oh the Zephyr has a very straight line cross look. Many companies made similar reels but most with the USA stamp I have seen seem like they may have been made by Shakespeare (just a guess).
