I started this about 8 months ago. Not all are in the photo buty I have 84 of them so far. The board on the left has all different box inserts and I have more to add. What ya think?
Very cool. I've hung onto an Omega 181 that belonged to my dad. What are some of the nicer or harder to find zebco's? What was the first model? I bet you can find a lot of advertising memorabilia to go along with that collection.
Hi Jason...I am no Zebco expert. I think the first model 33 with the metal plastic spinner head is the hardest to find. I have one thanks to Col. Milt. Then probably the black spinner head Standard. I don't have one of them but I am looking. I find some advertising stuff but not like you would think. I guess the other Zebco collectors already got most of it.
Hi Dick...I need a black spinner head Standard at a price I can afford. I have a few more to add to it including a mint 204 and 205...I believe I am going to have to make another display of some sort... I got these a couple months back...Jerry
Hi Jerry, good luck finding a black spinnerhead on the standard, they are a whole lot rarer than the metal/plastic spinnerhead on the 33. Not quite as rare as the numbered 33xbl's are but close. Pretty sure I only have two of them myself on the black spinnerheads. The 205's and 204's come around once in a while. Would love to find a box and paperwork for the 204, as I have it for the 205, interesting thing the 204 says 204 where the all red 205 just says zebco on the reel with no number. Heading to Ft Wayne, IN tomorrow, will be there for the NFLCC show on the 24th, Oct. I'll let you know if I run across any Zebco's, Langley's, or A&F reels while I'm up there. Going to see kids and grandkids for a week. Keep up the hunt.

yay-banana usa, Dick, I am not that far from fort Wayne, If you come across rt 20 or the PIKES? You could see the RAT HOLE! I just found in my parts boxes enough parts all new to build at least 600 or more early 33s Now that the Lure business is out except a few more loads in my stroage bays, Life will get a wee bit nicer! I am in the process of actualy cleaning up the RAT HOLE and actualy can see the concrete floor in places! Weather has been decent and the fish are driving us nuts on Lake Erie both walleys and Yellow perch! Again see if you can make it, also if you do? You can make copies of some of my ZEBCO BOOKS etc. I have a few reams of paper and just put a new cartage in the CANNON! Give it some serious thought! Col. Milton Lorens aka swim jig of Amherst Ohio
Dick and Jerry: I think a lot of us have used Zebcos (my first NEW reel as a kid was a Zebco spinning reel) but I, for one, don't know much about them. I would love to have an article or two (or three or four) about the history of Zebco or maybe a piece that focuses on the kinds of Zebco reels a collector might expect to find. Or maybe a piece about really unusual Zebcos or models that set the bar high for features or quality or something like that.
Anything we can do to bring new information to ORCA members is great. An article and a few closeup photos showing different models, highlighting the features or the differences in each model would be really helpful and educational to many of us.
Anything I can do to encourage you on this? Thanks for sharing!

Hey Richard...I am new to the Zebcos myself. I am trying to learn as much as I can. Most of the teaching comes from Dick on those lines and Col. Milt has been a huge help with getting a few nice reels including the plastic spinnerhead black 33...
I am waiting to see if Dick or someone can help with a 33 I have that has the name Homer Carter inscribed on it.
Hi Jerry, Homer Carter was Frank and Bill Carter Dad, Homer was the regenal rep for Zebco in the Texas Area, and Frank Carter and Bill Carter worked as reps for their dad, until Frank Carter was offered the South East Reg. of the U.S. by Zebco and Frank and Bill Carter started the Frank Carter Co. in Atlanta, Ga and the rest is history. Very Unique reel to own. Wish it was mine. I have two of Franks reels in my collection.
