Sorry...no reel with me, Milt. You'd think living around San Diego, I'd be wading knee-deep in them, but that isn't the case. So, Langley made a reel for Zebco? Must be a story in that!...or maybe I just haven't been paying attention :D

Zebco Bought Langley in 1962!

Post by Dick Braun,that-zebco-guy »

Hi everyone, Brunswick Corp. bought Langley reels in 1962 and made them part of Zebco. There are Langley Reels pre-1962, then there are Zebco Reels that were langleys, ie the 777,822, 830, 850, 860, and 870, these models were all right hand reels, the 834,864, & 874 were left handed reels that were special order from Zebco and are marked on the side plate as such. Zebco also made a branded version of the 850, 860 & 870 for A&F and they were called the "150 three" the 250 Ten, & the 250 Fifteen. Thought I would try and clear this up for everyone. Regards Dick

Langley, Zebco, Abercrombie Fitch Reel

Post by Dick Braun,that-zebco-guy »

The part we're still looking for is if both Langley and Zebco supplied reels to Abercrombie & Fitch or if A&F contracted with Zebco after Langley was bought out by Zebco.

Additional info has come to light!

Post by Dick Braun,that-zebco-guy »

There are two additional Langley/Zebco reels that were produced for A&F they are a model 200/Six and A Yellowstone that is the Model 777 but doesn't state so on the reel Just says yellowstone. I can't tell you what model the 200/Six is as I haven't seen one of them either as yet. But it looks like there were a total of 5 different A&F reels: 250/Fifteen, 250/Ten, 150/Three, 200/Six and the yellowstone. By the way I'm still looking for the 864 lefthanded reel.
