Some thoughts re baseball from a non-fan:
You can be accused of a "strike" by just standing there. You have to go and sit down if you just stand there three times.
When a pitcher throws a round thing inside of an imaginary box it is called a "strike", but if the round thing goes outside of that area it is called what is really is-a ball.
There are "innings", but no "outings".
If you make a home run, it is not necessary to run. You can walk.
If four balls are thrown, it is called a "walk" but I have never seen anyone walk to first base even though they could walk.
If you make a mistake in one game you are charged with an official "error". But if you don't get a hit in three straight games it is called a "slump". Which is worse?
You can try to steal a base, but you can't take it off of the field with you, so why try?
I have never seen a bull in a bull pen on a baseball field.
Baseball is one of the few sports played outdoors that can be postponed in the spring and again in the fall because of snow.
Why do baseball players have to sit below ground level while waiting?
