Winter 2010

Post by RAM »

Well, here in the Sunny South it has been chilly. Needed to go to Alaska for the winter where it was warm and polar bears were on strike I guess. This is the coldest winter here (Nashville) in 30 years and the eleventh coldest on record. Moscow (Russia, not West Tennessee) just experienced its worst snowstorm in forty years. May not be due to global cooling, but those pushing for anti-heating legislation are smart by keeping quiet until summer.
At least not much snow here!
Cheers! Bad Bob

PS: 13,000 ybp the average temp of North America dropped 16 degrees in only two years and stayed far below normal until 5000 feet of ice covered the area of Chicago and New York. Hard to imagine, looking up on Fifth Avenue that a mile of ice was there above you in the Late Pleistocene. Fortunately, it began to melt within a thousand or so years (thanks to Clovis man driving Humvees) and by 10,000 ybp it had retreated into Canada where it belonged. Be thankful for global warming Chicagoans!

It's supposed to top 60 here today. Fudge and I will be heading to the river after we get the chores done. Maybe a few of those large female smallies will be looking for an easy meal.
