There is a free schematic of your reel on mikesreelrepair.com if that will help you.

So, CD...how big was your lunch bucket when you worked at Penn? :D

you got any fun show-and-tell?

Re the Abu, a couple pics might allow someone not super-familiar with that reel to make suggestions?

i work on those on occasion, that uses 2 internal fiber discs for the drag friction and that is set by the black drag button knob on the handle shaft. the handle has 3 inclined ramps formed into the underside, as the handle is turned forward within that slotted chrome collar the ramps climb a similar set on a fixed position washer within the collar and that action exerts pull on the shaft and increases the drag friction , the handle is acting as an override on the drag button.----------- dont know what the factory advises on setting these, hard dry grease has been a culprit in the poor operation of these. i have factory parts drawing but no owners manual, sure there are many abu owners around that could give you more input on this reel -------- gene b.

:D If Vinnie thought he could get away with that, sounds like he should have been called "Pony Boy" .

I suppose they would have had to do that to keep from losing the farm...either that or just hire cheerleaders and eunochs :D
