Meisselbach Two Screw Tri-Part rear bearing issues - HELP!
This is my first ORCA post! I recently decided to purchase a nice little reel for a circa 1907 Bristol rod that I have (I primarily collect pre-1910 metal lures - this is my first reel purchase) - it is a Meisselbach Two Screw Tri-Part reel. It arrived in the mail yesterday and everything seems to be fine - EXCEPT the rear bearing knob on the exterior of the reel appears to be stuck and will not unscrew (I would like to lessen the pressure that is being exerting on the spool a little bit). Is there a trick to unscrewing these? Do you have to pull on the knob first, then unscrew it? Is the knob reverse threaded? It does not outwardly appear that the reel has been dropped - causing damage to the knob/rear bearing. This is my first vintage reel purchase, I really like this reel and do not want to screw it up. I would greatly appreciate ANY information/help with this. Thanks! John
