The Harris Reel Pat. Sept. 22, 1903 ?

Hi,

I recently came across a very unusual reel bearing the name Harris Reel, Patent September 22, 1903, Gloversville, N.Y..

The reel is contained within the handle of the rod and appears to be very well made. The handle measures approximately 11-1/2".

If anybody would like to share any information about this unique reel, I would appreciate it. I don't find any articles in The Reel News about this reel or the company who may have manufactured it. Thank you, Ed

Pat. # 739,784. The reel was made for a brief period by the Harris Reel Co., Gloversville.

Here's the Patent info, for those who haven't seen it. Did you purchase the Harris reel that was on eBay last week, it looked like a bargain.

Ed, it went for $167.51 + 27.75 S&H. However, it was missing the rod adjustment section that would fit into the end of the reel. Here's the link.
